OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – The Adrian College men's golf team started its spring season this week as they traveled to North Carolina. The Bulldogs competed in the annual Pfeiffer Invitational where the team finished 5
th out of 17 teams. The Bulldogs shot 320 on Monday followed by a 303 on Tuesday to combine for 623.
Christian Long and
Cameron Bozyk led the way for Adrian where they each finished the tournament with a 151 to tie for seventh. Long shot an 80 in the opening round followed by a 71 on day two. Bozyk shot 78 and 73 during the two days for the Bulldogs.
Hendrik de Koning shot 80 and 78 for Adrian to total a 158 while
Gabe Campbell shot an 82 and an 81 to total 163.
Joe Renfer finished the tournament with a 167.
The Bulldogs competed a second team consisting of four golfers who shot 345 on Monday and 332 on Tuesday to finish with a 677.
Ryan Van Eyk led the team with a 77 and a 79 to shoot 156 for the tournament followed by
Sam Sawyer at 85 and 83 to shoot 168.
Jaden Eggers shot a two-day total of 170 while
Mason Gurney shot 183.
The Bulldogs will compete on March 16-17 at the Great Lakes Invitational hosted by Rose-Hulman at Terre Haute Country Club.
