ADRIAN MICH. – The Adrian College baseball team competed in the series finale doubleheader with Calvin University at home on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs fell in game one of the doubleheader in 11 innings by a 3-2 score. Adrian rallies in game two of the doubleheader and wins 11-1 in seven innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Calvin scored first in the fifth inning with a two-run inning.
- Adrian struggled at the plate with its first hit of the game coming in the bottom of the seventh inning. Cam Oliver drove in Ryan Davis to put Adrian on the board and bring the score to 2-1.
- In the eighth inning, David Kedrow singled in a run to tie the game 2-2.
- It too extra innings to decide a winner in game one where Calvin came away with the 3-2 win in the eleventh inning.
- Daniel Gutierrez got the start on the mound for the Bulldogs where he allowed two runs in 7.1 innings of work and striking out five. Luc St. Antoine picked up his first loss of the season in relief after tossing 3.2 innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
- Calvin jumped on the board first in game two on a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to lead 1-0.
- The Bulldogs responded in the second inning on an RBI single from Davis to score Kedrow and tie the game.
- In the fourth inning, Adrian loaded the bases and scored a pair on back-to-back hit batters. With the bases still loaded, Ronaldo Jimenez cleared the bases with a triple to left field and later scored on a wild pitch to lead 7-1.
- Later in the fourth inning, Kedrow doubled in another run followed by an RBI groundout from Jaxon McGuigan and a run scoring on an error to lead 10-1 and cap off a nine-run inning.
- Adrian added another run in the fifth inning on a Calvin error to lead 11-1.
- Jaxon Clark got the start for game two for Adrian where he allowed one run in 7 innings pitched while striking out nine. Ian Doyle took the loss for Calvin.

The Bulldogs will travel to The College of Wooster on Sunday, April 21 for a 2:00 PM non-conference contest.
