ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team hosted Wittenberg University on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest. The Bulldogs swept a doubleheader against Wittenberg earlier in the season on the road, before completing the three-game sweep on Sunday. Adrian came out ahead, 7-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wittenberg got on the board first in the top of the second inning. The Tiger hitter smashed a home run to center field with a runner on, but missed home plate on his way around the bases and was called out to only score one run.
- Adrian took a 2-1 lead in the third inning sparked by an RBI double from Ryan Davis before scoring on a single from AJ Miranda.
- The Bulldogs added another run in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Nic Bruder to lead 3-1.
- In the eighth, Adrian added four runs to pull ahead 7-1. Joe Casale drove in a run on a double before scoring on a triple from Bruder. Rolando Jimenez reached third base on an error by the right fielder which allowed two more Adrian runs to come across the plate.
