OLIVET, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team opened its three-game series with The University of Olivet on Friday afternoon on the road. The Bulldogs took game one of the series as they shut out Olivet winning, 10-0.
Jakob Charles pitched a complete game on the mound for Adrian.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- David Kedrow drove in the first run of the ballgame on an RBI single to centerfield. Later in the inning, Ryan Davis singled in a run to lead 2-0.
- Easton Rogers hit a solo home run in the top of the third to lead 3-0 before Joe Casale hit a 2-RBI double to lead 5-0, and Charles doubled in a run to lead 6-0.
- In the seventh inning, Philip Vilardo, Daniel Shipman, and Casale all drew bases loaded walked to pull ahead 9-0.
- In the eighth inning, Kedrow hit a sacrifice fly to lead 10-0 ultimately resulting in the 10-run mercy rule.
TOP DAWGS
- Adrian recorded 11 hits as a team on Friday as Casale, Davis, Rogers, and Shipman finished the day with two hits apiece.
- Casale led the way with three RBIs for Adrian followed by two from Kedrow.
- Charles pitched a complete game throwing eight innings allowing no runs on four hits with four strikeouts.
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will wrap up the series with Olivet tomorrow as they host the Comets for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM at Nicolay Field.
