BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Adrian College men's golf team opened the season over the weekend with a two-day tournament hosted by The University of Olivet. The Bulldogs shot 318 on day one to sit in seventh, but bounced back to shoot 310 on day two to finish sixth.
Carter Klawonn made his collegiate debut over the weekend where he sat at the top of the leaderboard for the Bulldogs by shooting 156. Klawonn finished day one with a 76 followed by an 80 on day two.
Joe Renfer also shot 156 for the two days finishing with a 79 in the opening round and a 77 on Saturday.
Christian Long shot 157 for Adrian with a 78 on Friday and a 79 on Saturday.
Cameron Bozyk finished the two-day tournament with a 161 after firing an 85 on Friday before bouncing back with a 76 on Saturday.
Mason Gurney rounded out the starting lineup with a 163 after shooting 85 and 78.
Sam Sawyer played as an individual for the Bulldogs where he shot 163 with an 84 on Friday and a 79 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs are will be back in action on the road on Sunday, September 1 when they open up a two-day tournament hosted by Ohio Northern. Sunday's round will tee off at 1:00 PM.
