ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College ACHA Men's Division 1 hockey team hosted No. 4-ranked Liberty University over the weekend in their annual Rivalry Weekend series at Arrington Ice Arena. The No. 2-ranked Bulldogs and the Flames split the two-game series, with Adrian taking the opener 7-3 and Liberty bouncing back for a 6-2 win in game two.

Adrian came out strong in Friday night's game, striking just 45 seconds into the contest with a goal from Matteo Turrin. Blake Wideman added a tally later in the period to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead after one. The second period saw Adrian extend their lead with goals from Sebastian Smith and Wideman, making it 4-0. Liberty responded with two goals of their own, cutting the deficit to 4-2 heading into the third.

The Bulldogs wasted no time regaining momentum, as Eli Reimer scored just 10 seconds into the final frame. Wideman completed his hat trick shortly after, and Smith added his second goal of the night to seal a dominant 7-3 victory. Justin Jamer recorded two assists in the win, while goaltender Peyton Trzaska stopped 28 shots to earn the victory.

Saturday's rematch proved more challenging for Adrian. Liberty jumped out to a 3-0 lead late in the second period before Wideman scored his fourth goal of the weekend to put the Bulldogs on the board. Trailing 4-1 entering the third, Adrian got one more goal from Jamer, but Liberty added two more including an empty netter to secure the 6-2 win. Trzaska was busy between the pipes again, finishing with 34 saves.

The Bulldogs return to home ice October 17–18 when they host Syracuse University. Friday's game is set for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop and will feature Military Appreciation Night.
