ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 3 hockey team gets their first losses of the season getting swept by Northwood 3-2 Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
On the road at Northwood Saturday, the Bulldogs trailed 3-1 after the first period. Maximilan Scadel with the goal in the first period for Adrian with a set up from
Maxim Sorel and
Solyom Andras. After a scoreless second period, Adrian looked for the comeback in the third period with
Dmitrii Sergeev finding the back of the net. However, that would not be enough to complete the comeback for the bulldogs.
Peyton Lenger was between the pipes for the Bulldogs collecting 22 saves off of 25 shots from Northwood.
Sunday afternoon back at Arrington, Andras started the scoring in the first period but the Timberwolves answered with two goals to give themselves the lead to close out the period. Northwood went on to score another goal to start the second period.
Gavin Scally thinned the Timberwolves lead to one to close out the period. With a scoreless third period, the Bulldogs finished the game with the 3-2 loss. The Bulldogs goaltender
Ryan Rainey stopped 33 of the Timberwolves 36 shots on goal.
The MD3 Bulldogs look to bounce back Friday and Sunday with a home-and-home series against Aquinas. Friday evening at Aquinas for a 7:30pm puck drop and Sunday afternoon at Arrington Ice Arena at 1:00pm.
