ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College ACHA Division I men's hockey team battled No. 3-ranked Ohio University in a top-five matchup over the weekend. The No. 4 Bulldogs and the Bobcats split the two-game series, with Adrian taking Thursday's contest 4–2 before falling 2–0 on Friday night.
Thursday's game took place at Arrington Ice Arena, where Ohio jumped out to a 2–0 lead after the first period. Midway through the second, Cash Regan put the Bulldogs on the board with a power-play goal. Matteo Turrin tied the game with under four minutes remaining in the frame before Regan struck again on the power play to give Adrian a 3–2 lead. The Bulldogs locked down defensively in the third, and Justin Jamer sealed the victory with an empty-net goal to make it 4–2.
Turrin added an assist for a two-point night, while Ethan McLaughlin tallied three assists. Dylan Eliason earned the win in net, stopping 36 shots.
The series shifted to Athens, Ohio, on Friday night, where the Bulldogs were unable to capitalize on several scoring chances. Despite outshooting Ohio 34–26 over the final two periods, Adrian couldn't break through. The Bobcats scored a pair of power-play goals—one in the first and one in the third—to take a 2–0 win and even the series.
Eliason turned away 35 shots in the loss.
Adrian returns to Arrington Ice Arena on October 29–30, hosting Saginaw Valley State University for a two-game set. Both games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
