SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -- The Adrian College WD1 hockey team headed out to University of Michigan Thursday night with a commanding 6-1 victory. Following Thursday, the Bulldogs made the trip north up to Lake Superior State on Saturday and Sunday, taking a sweep up there. Keeping it close Saturday evening, with a 4-2 victory and a 5-1 victory Sunday afternoon. 

The Bulldogs came out hard in the first period Thursday night when senior Ashlynn Still netted a goal just 1:25 into the game, while freshmen Addison Scoville added a helper. Junior Taryn Moris followed up at 3:36 to give Adrian the 2-0 lead. The Wolverines took advantage on the powerplay to cut the Bulldogs lead to one. However, the Bulldogs came out firing with four unanswered goals. Senior Genessie Williams netted her third goal of the season shortly after Michigan's one and only goal. Freshman Sydney Haggart converted on the powerplay to give the Bulldogs the 4-1 lead. While senior Tyla Turnbull extended to Bulldogs lead at 14:14 with an assist to senior Taylor Robinson. To close out the Bulldogs scoring, senior Ava Seychel netted her first career D1 goal with the Bulldogs, with help from sophomore Dylan Hubbard. After a scoreless third period, Adrian took the 6-1 victory while outshooting the Wolverines 56-18. Sophomore Olivia Towpich was between the pipes for the Bulldogs collecting 17 saves on 18 shots. 

Saturday, the Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the board, as Scoville netted a powerplay goal just over three minutes into the first period, assisted by Turnbull. Less than three minutes later, Williams doubled the lead, finishing a setup from graduate student Hailey Wiltshire and Stitt. Lake Superior State battled back with a goal late in the first, and then they tied the game early in the second period. But Adrian's offense responded in the third. Turnbull broke the tie at the 8:00 mark, with Morris assisting, and Wiltshire sealed the win with another powerplay marker later in the frame, again assisted by Morris. The Bulldogs were outshot 36–34 but made their opportunities count to secure the win. Junior Taylor Kinkade recored 34 saves on those 36 shots.

Adrian carried their momentum into Sunday's matchup, dominating Lake Superior State 5–1 to sweep the weekend series. The Lakers struck first on a powerplay, but it was all Bulldogs from there. Junior Chloe Gregory answered just 19 seconds later, assisted by Seychel, and sophomore Brenna Ward and Robinson added two more quick goals to give Adrian a 3–1 lead after the first. In the second, Wiltshire extended the lead with her seventh of the season, assisted by Ward and Williams, before Robinson buried her second of the game late in the period with help from Turnbull and Gregory. Adrian's defense locked things down in the third, holding the Lakers to just one shot on goal in the final 40 minutes. The Bulldogs finished with a commanding 31–1 advantage in shots and controlled play throughout.
