GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Adrian College ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team squared off against Davenport University in a two-game GL6 conference series this past weekend. The Bulldogs entered the matchup ranked No. 5 in the nation, while the Panthers sat at No. 25. Adrian swept the series with back-to-back 4–0 shutouts, earning Thursday's win at home before repeating the performance on Friday. The Friday victory also marked the 300th career win for head coach Gary Astalos.
On Thursday, Adrian jumped out to a 2–0 lead in the first period with goals from Nathaniel Mott and Matteo Turrin. After a scoreless second period, Carter McLeod extended the lead in the third, and Turrin added his second of the night to seal the 4–0 final. Sebastian Smith, Ethan McLaughlin, Hunter Allen, and Cash Regan all recorded assists, while goaltender Dylan Eliason stopped all 17 shots he faced.
In Friday's contest, Smith and Keegan DeCaluwe gave the Bulldogs another strong start, sending them into the first intermission up 2–0. Marc-Antoine Belzile pushed the lead to 3–0 in the second period, and Smith scored again in the third to complete another 4–0 shutout. Turrin tallied a pair of assists, while Regan, Allen, Mott, Caleb Minns, and Luke Marley each added helpers. Goaltender Peyton Trzaska earned the shutout with a 24-save performance.
Adrian returns to action on Tuesday, November 25, when they host Indiana Tech in a non-conference matchup at 7:05 p.m.
