ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College ACHA Men's Division 1 hockey team completed a two-game GL6 Conference series sweep over Purdue Northwest on Thursday and Friday. The Bulldogs earned a 2–1 win at home before taking a 4–2 victory on the road, improving to 18-3-2 on the season and remaining perfect in GL6 play at 6–0.
Thursday night's matchup opened with a scoreless first period. In the second, Ethan McLaughlin broke the deadlock with a goal assisted by Cash Regan and Sebastian Smith. Regan extended the lead to 2–0 later in the period with help from Ryan Brow and Griffin Zaske. Purdue Northwest cut the deficit with a third-period goal, but the Bulldog defense held firm to secure the one-goal win.
Goaltender Dylan Eliason made 22 saves in the victory. Before the game, Adrian College honored Head Coach Gary Astalos with a commemorative plaque recognizing his 300th career win, achieved last month.
On Friday, Adrian struck early on the road as Blake Wideman scored just under two and a half minutes into the game. Marc-Antoine Belzile and Hunter Allen each added unassisted goals later in the period to push the lead to 3–0. Purdue Northwest responded with a late first-period power-play goal, but Luke Marley restored Adrian's three-goal cushion in the second to make it 4–1. Purdue tallied another power-play goal, but the third period remained scoreless, sealing the Bulldogs' sweep.
Marley, Cyrus Toth, Eli Reimer, and Caleb Minns each recorded assists in Friday's win. Peyton Trzaska earned the victory in net with 26 saves.
The Bulldogs will now take a well-deserved holiday break before returning to action on Thursday, January 15, when they host Hope College at 7:30 p.m. for another GL6 Conference matchup.
