ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 3 hockey team closed its regular season this past weekend with a home-and-home with Western Michigan. The Bulldogs fell short in both games, losing 5-4 and 3-0.
Adrian hit the road on Saturday to Kalamazoo for game one, battling all the way to the very end, but coming up one goal short in the opening 5-4 loss.
Zach Skinner,
Anthony Alfonsi,
Evan Bliss, and
James Schmidt gathered the offense, while
Ryan Rainey made 26 saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
Henry Darnell and
Joseph Plaster each registered two assists in defeat.
When the Bulldogs met the Stallions at the Arrington Ice Arena on Sunday to close the series, it seemed as though they left all their offense in Kalamazoo as the Stallions prevented the Bulldogs from finding the back of the net all game. A 3-0 loss saw
Rex Goldberg make 20 of 23 saves in the regular season-ending loss.
The MD3 Bulldogs close the 2024-25 campaign with a 10-14 overall record and a 1-9 MCHC conference record. The team will enter the MCHC Playoffs as the No. 6 seed and will face-off against No. 3 Michigan on Friday, February 28 at 6:30 PM in Burton, Michigan.
