Women's ACHA D1 Hockey Grab No. 3 Seed for Next Month's ACHA National Championship Tournament

TROY, Mich. -- The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) released the official list of the twelve teams competing at the Women's Division 1 National Championship Tournament next month in St. Louis, Missouri. The Adrian College Bulldogs were listed as the No. 3 seed in the final release of the national computer rankings.

The Bulldogs recently captured their seventh straight CCWHA Playoff Championship after defeating Michigan-Dearborn in the championship game last weekend. With that victory, the Bulldogs also clinched an auto-bid to the national tournament.

With an overall record of 29-5-3 and an undefeated conference record of 14-0, the Bulldogs stood at No. 2 in the national computer rankings for the majority of the season. Although, in this final rendering of the rankings, Adrian drops one spot to No. 3, sitting behind No. 2 Maryville University and No. 1 Liberty University; two teams that the Bulldogs had defeated once before earlier this season.

With the National Championships set to take place in just a few weeks from March 17-21 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri, the defending national champions will be preparing to the best of their abilities, in hopes of defending last year's title.

A full national tournament preview for the Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 1 hockey team will be released on the Adrian College Athletics website in the coming weeks leading up to the tournament.
