Kedrow Launches a Pair of Homers to Lead Baseball to a 15-3 Win Over Heidelberg

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team held its home opener on Tuesday afternoon at Nicolay Field. The Bulldogs hosted Heidelberg University and came away with a 15-3 victory. Adrian pitched by committee tossing six pitchers in the contest while also hitting three home runs at the plate.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Adrian grabbed a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first after a three-run homer to center by David Kedrow.
  • Heidelberg answered with a run in the top of the third, but Kedrow responded with his second home run of the game to lead 5-1.
  • In the fourth inning, Phillip Vilardo singled in a run on a perfectly executed bunt which was followed by a 2-RBI single by Ryan Davis to lead 8-1.
  • Heidelberg scored a run in the fifth and one in the sixth to take the score to 8-3.
  • In the seventh inning, Adrian posted six runs on the scoreboard on a sacrifice fly from Kedrow, an RBI single from Jake Burns, a 2-RBI single from Andrew Clouse, and a 2-run homer from Jack Boike to lead 14-3.
  • Adrian added another run in the eighth inning after an RBI double from Davis to win 15-3.
TOP DAWGS
  • Kedrow finished the game 2-for-3 with six RBIs while Davis finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a pair of walks. Linken Hayward finished 2-for-4 on the day with a pair of doubles and two runs scored.
  • Adrian totaled 14 hits as a team on Tuesday while Heidelberg finished with five.
  • Parker Faris earned the win on the mound after tossing three innings allowing one run on one hit with a pair of strikeouts. Broc Shoemaker and Ryan Davis each pitched 1-2-3 innings in relief.
