MARSHALL, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team squared off against No. 10 East Texas Baptist University on Sunday afternoon, but struggled offensively, suffering a 6-0 shutout. This marked their first shutout loss since March 2023, when they were blanked by Denison.
East Texas Baptist struck early, scoring a run in the first inning and adding another later in the frame due to a throwing error by the Bulldogs. The Tigers extended their lead in the fourth with a solo home run, followed by a two-run homer in the sixth. They capped their scoring in the seventh with an insurance run on a groundout.
The Bulldogs managed just four hits on the day, with singles from Linken Hayward, Rolando Jimenez, Christian Oliver, and Jake Burns. On the mound, Landon Kozlowski started for Adrian, pitching five innings. He allowed three runs on three hits and struck out eight.
Adrian will look to rebound tomorrow afternoon, as they face a doubleheader against Centenary and East Texas Baptist, starting at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
