OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – The Adrian College men's golf team kicked off its spring season at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational in North Carolina. The Bulldogs placed 11th out of 18 teams with a two-day total of 647, shooting 329 on Monday and improving to 318 on Tuesday.
Joe Renfer led the way for Adrian, tying for eighth in the field with a two-day score of 155. Renfer shot 78 on Monday and 77 on Tuesday. Cameron Bozyk finished 27th with back-to-back 80s for a total of 160. Carter Klawonn shot 82 and 81, finishing with a 163, while Jaden Eggers posted scores of 89 and 80 for a 169. Jackson Colaner completed the two-day tournament with a 175 after shooting 92 and 83.
Adrian also fielded a second team, which placed 15th with a two-day score of 677, shooting 351 on Monday and 326 on Tuesday. Zayn Spidalieri led the second team with a 165, shooting 88 on Monday and 77 on Tuesday. Sam Sawyer finished with a 168, shooting 90 and 78. Max Gavric and Michael Shubeck each shot 172, with Garvic recording two 86s and Shubeck posting scores of 87 and 85. Cole Zavadil struggled on day one with a 106 but significantly improved by 13 strokes, shooting 93 on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs will return to action on March 22-23 when they travel to Williamsburg, Virginia, to compete in The Ruckus
