Baseball Wraps Up the 2025 Season in the Regional Championship with Loss to UW-Whitewater

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team capped off another strong season with its third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Regional Championship. Entering as the No. 4 seed, the Bulldogs faced top-seeded UW-Whitewater in a rematch of both their opening game of the 2025 Regionals and the 2021 Regional Championship held in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Despite a hard-fought effort, Adrian fell short, 4-1, bringing their season to a close.

How It Happened

  • UW-Whitewater struck first with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead.

  • Adrian responded in the top of the third when Jack Boike reached base and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Nic Bruder, tying the game at 1-1.

  • In the bottom of the third, Whitewater loaded the bases and capitalized with back-to-back RBI singles, pushing across three runs to regain a 4-1 advantage.

  • Adrian was quiet offensively for several innings until Rolando Jimenez doubled to left-center in the seventh, but the Bulldogs were unable to bring him home.

  • In the top of the ninth, Adrian mounted a rally, loading the bases and forcing a pitching change, but couldn't deliver the key hit to extend the game.

  • The Bulldogs recorded six hits on the day, with contributions from Linken Hayward, Nic Bruder, Easton Rogers, Cam Oliver, Rolando Jimenez, and Jack Boike.

On the Mound

  • Lincoln Lipinski started the game, pitching two innings.

  • Sean Parker provided a strong relief effort, tossing 3.2 shutout innings.

  • Ben Bates closed out the game with 2.1 innings of one-hit ball.

Season Recap

Adrian finishes the 2025 season with a 30-18 overall record. The Bulldogs captured both the MIAA Regular Season and Tournament titles and made their third straight trip to the NCAA Regionals. With a strong core and postseason experience, Adrian looks to build on this momentum heading into the 2026 campaign.
