BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Adrian College men's golf team opened its season over the weekend at the Lou Collins Memorial Tournament, hosted by Olivet. The Bulldogs placed third out of 10 teams with a total score of 625. Adrian posted a 318 in Friday's opening round before bouncing back to win day two with a team score of 307.
Jack Vogel led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing second overall with a two-day total of 151. He carded a 74 in the first round and followed it with a 77 on Saturday. Mason Gurney earned a fifth-place finish, shooting 81 and 75 for a total of 156. Michael Shubeck added a two-day score of 158 (82-76), while Carter Klawonn posted rounds of 81 and 83 to finish at 164. Simon Foreman rounded out the starting lineup with a 165.
Jaden Eggers competed as an individual and recorded rounds of 79 and 81 for a total of 160.
Vogel was named to the All-Tournament Team following his runner-up finish.
The Bulldogs return to action September 12–13 as they host the annual Irish Hills Invitational at Tecumseh Golf Club. Both rounds are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
