ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Adrian College ACHA Division I women's hockey team opened its 2026-27 season with a 2-1 loss to the University of Michigan on Thursday night.
Michigan opened the scoring at 9:32 of the first period before Sydney Haggart tied the game with a power-play goal at 12:35 of the second. Nadia Nickel picked up the assist as the Bulldogs entered the third period tied, 1-1.
The Wolverines regained the lead with a power-play goal at 9:16 of the third period and held off the Bulldogs the rest of the way. Adrian finished with a 32-27 advantage in shots on goal and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
Taylor Kinkade made 25 saves in net for Adrian, allowing two goals on 27 shots.
