FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Adrian College softball team traveled to Franklin College for a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs split the day with Franklin taking game one 5-2 before falling in game two 12-6.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1

• Adrian struck first in the top of the first inning on a solo homer from Karsyn Malinich.
• Abbie Hoff launched a 2-run homer in the third inning to lead 3-0.
• In the fourth, Addison Inskeep singled to center to lead 4-0 before Franklin scored its first run of the game in the sixth.
• Meghan Kowalyk hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to pull ahead 5-1 before Franklin scored in the bottom of the inning resulting in a 5-2 Bulldog victory.
• Adrian finished the game with seven hits including two from Inskeep.
• Avery Clark earned her fifth win of the season after tossing a complete game where she allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2

• Franklin jumped out to a 3-0 lead after scoring twice in the first and once in the second.
• Hoff put the Bulldogs on the board in the third on an RBI double which was answered by Franklin to make it 3-1.
• Adrian scored four runs in the fourth inning with and RBI from Ava Wolfe, Malinish, Hoff to lead 5-4.
• Franklin tied the game in the bottom of the inning but Adrian lead 6-5 in the top of the fifth after a homer from Inskeep.
• Franklin sparked a rally and scored two in the bottom the fifth and five in the sixth to win the game 12-6.
• Adrian finished the game with nine hits including three from Hanna Walker and two from Taylor Gerhardt.
• Kennedi Ryan started on the rubber for Adrian where she threw 3.1 innings allowing five runs on ten hits. Hoff suffered the loss allowing two runs on four hits in 1.1 innings.

The Bulldogs will open up at home on Wednesday, March 25 when they host Heidelberg University at 3:30 PM for a doubleheader.
