Baseball Opens Up at Home with 19 Hits in Win over RV Wooster

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College baseball team opened up at home on Wednesday afternoon with a non-conference contest against RV The College of Wooster. The No. 22 Bulldogs exploded offensively and came away with a 15-5 victory in eight innings.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Wooster jumped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring in the third inning and again in the fourth.
  • Adrian responded to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run from Jake Burns, an RBI single from Rolando Jimenez, and an RBI groundout from Cam Oliver.
  • Adrian posted a seven-run fifth inning to lead 10-2. Burns hit his second home run of the game followed by RBI singles from Jack Boike and Nic Bruder before a 2-RBI double from Gabe Jones. Jaxon McGuigan drove in the team's tenth run on an RBI single.
  • In the sixth inning, Bruder drove in another Bulldog run to lead 11-2.
  • Wooster scored three runs in the eighth inning to make it 11-5.
  • Bruder singled in another run before Jones launched a three-run homer to pull ahead by ten and win the game.
TOP DAWGS
  • The Bulldogs finished the game with 19 hits including three from Boike and Bruder. Cam Oliver, Christian Oliver, Jones, Burns, and Jimenez each had two hits.
  • Jones led the team with five RBIs while Bruder and Burns each added three.
  • Landon Kozlowski started on the mound pitching three innings allowing one run on one hit. Ben Bates earned the win in relief tossing two innings allowing one run on one hit.
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs open up MIAA conference play on Friday, March 27 when they host Alma College at 4PM at Nicolay Field.
