HOLLAND, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA softball team traveled to Hope College on Saturday for another MIAA doubleheader. The Bulldogs struggled offensively, dropping both games to the Flying Dutch, 8-0 and 10-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Hope took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning before extending its advantage to 4-0 with a three-run third inning.
- The Flying Dutch added one run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to secure the 8-0 run-rule victory.
- Adrian managed just three hits in the contest, with one each from Taylor Gerhardt, Addison Inskeep, and Peyton Russell.
- Avery Clark went the distance in the circle, pitching 5.2 innings while allowing seven earned runs on 12 hits and striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- Adrian grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Addison Inskeep delivered an RBI single to score Alaina Craig.
- Hope answered with four runs in the third inning before adding six more in the sixth to end the game by run rule.
- The Bulldogs recorded seven hits in game two, led by Inskeep with two.
- Lillian Utrup took the loss after pitching 2.1 innings and allowing four runs on six hits.
- Abbie Hoff threw three innings of relief, striking out two.

The Bulldogs return to the AC Softball Field on Monday, April 27, to host Manchester University in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
