ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA baseball team locked up a series victory over Albion on the road on Wednesday afternoon. After taking game one last week, the No. 23 Bulldogs defeated the Britons 16-7 in game two of the three-game set to win another MIAA series. Adrian moves to 18-6 on the season and 6-2 in MIAA conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs led 1-0 after the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Gabe Jones.
- In the third inning, Adrian pulled ahead 6-0 on an RBI single from Jake Burns, a 2-RBI double from Aiden Melvin, and RBI double from Casey Finn, and an RBI single from Rolando Jimenez.
- Melvin struck again in the fifth inning on a solo homer before Nic Bruder drove in a run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly to lead 8-0.
- Albion scored five runs in the sixth inning with the help of a three-run homer.
- In the seventh, Jake Burns and Melvin hit back-to-back homer runs which was followed by RBI singles from Jaxon McGuigan, Jack Boike, and Bruder to lead 13-5.
- Christian Oliver hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning while Burns launched his second homer of the game in the ninth to lead 16-5.
- Albion scored two in the bottom of the night to bring the final score to 16-7 in favor of Adrian.
TOP DAWGS
- The Bulldogs finished with 18 hits as a team led by three hits from Boike, Burns, and Melvin. Jimenez and McGuigan each recorded two.
- With the help of two home runs each, Burns and Melvin led the team with four RBIs apiece.
- Jaxon Clark started the game on the mound allowing no runs on one hit in three innings. Parker Faris earned the win in relief tossing two innings allowing no runs on one hit.

It'll be a top-25 matchup this weekend inside MIAA action as the No. 23 Bulldogs take on the No. 10 Kalamazoo College Hornets. Game one of the series is scheduled on the road for Friday, April 10 at 4:00 PM followed by a home doubleheader at Nicolay Field on Saturday, April 11 at 1PM.
