ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA softball team concluded its 2026 season on Saturday with a doubleheader against The University of Olivet. The Bulldogs came out ahead in dominate fashion winning both games in five innings by a score of 8-0 and 13-1. Prior to the game, Adrian College recognized head coach
Kaylee Fox on her 100
th career win earlier this week, and honored the 2026 Senior Class with a ceremony following the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Adrian started the scoring early in the bottom of the first on an RBI single from Addison Inskeep and an RBI groundout from Abbie Hoff.
- The Bulldogs pulled ahead 4-0 in the second inning in infield singles from Taylor Gerhardt and Karsyn Malinich.
- In the fifth inning, the Bulldogs ended the game after an RBI triple from Inskeep, an RBI single from Hoff, a sacrifice fly from Emmalee Shankel, and an RBI single from Ashley Myers to win 8-0.
- Adrian finished the game with nine hits including two from Malinich, Inskeep, and Hanna Walker.
- Avery Clark pitched another complete game earning her tenth win of the season allowing no runs on two hits with eight strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
- Hoff began the scoring in the first inning on an RBI double to lead 1-0.
- In the third inning, Inskeep and Hoff hit back-to-back home runs to pull ahead 4-0.
- Olivet scored its only run of the team in the bottom of the third, but the Bulldogs responded with three runs in the fourth.
- The Bulldogs added a run on a wild pitch followed by an RBI groundout from Gerhardt, and an RBI single by Malinich.
- In the fifth inning, Adrian added more on an RBI triple from Walker, a 2-run homer from Peyton Russell, and a single from Inskeep with an Olivet error to clear the bases and lead 13-1.
- Adrian finished game two with 11 hits including a four-hit game from Inskeep.
- Kira Stacey started game two where she pitched all five innings allowing one unearned run on four hits with one strikeout.
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs conclude the 2026 season with a 20-20 record and finished 7-9 in MIAA play. Adrian will return to action in Florida during Spring Break of 2027.
