ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College NCAA baseball team captured another MIAA Tournament Championship on Friday afternoon, defeating Alma College 8-3 at Nicolay Field. With the victory, the Bulldogs completed a perfect run through the conference tournament and secured an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Baseball Regionals next weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Adrian wasted no time offensively, erupting for five runs in the opening inning. Christian Oliver started the scoring with an RBI single before Casey Finn delivered a two-run double. Rolando Jimenez added an RBI groundout and Brendan Willadsen capped the inning with an RBI single to give the Bulldogs an early 5-0 advantage.
- Alma answered with a run in the third inning on an RBI groundout to cut the deficit to 5-1.
- The Bulldogs responded in the fourth inning when Jaxon McGuigan launched a two-run home run to extend the lead to 7-1.
- Adrian added another insurance run in the fifth inning after Nic Bruder drove in a run with an RBI single.
- Alma scored twice in the eighth inning on a solo home run and an RBI single, but Adrian closed out the game in the ninth inning to secure the conference tournament title.

- Bruder and Cam Oliver each recorded three hits as Adrian totaled 10 hits in the championship victory.
- Finn finished with two RBIs while McGuigan added a two-run homer.
- Landon Kozlowski earned the win after tossing 7.1 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out three batters.
- Lincoln Lipinski closed out the final 1.2 innings, allowing just one hit and no runs.
