ANGOLA, Ind. – The Adrian College men's golf team opened MIAA Jamboree play on Tuesday afternoon at Trine University, finishing third out of eight conference teams with a team score of 283. The Bulldogs' 283 set a new program record for a four-man team score, surpassing the previous record of 286 set during the 2010-11 season at Trine.
Michael Shubeck led the Bulldogs with a second-place finish, carding a 68 to finish three-under par. Christian Long finished tied for third after shooting a 69, finishing two-under par.
Carter Klawonn and Jack Vogel each posted rounds of 73 to finish two-over par and round out Adrian's scoring four. Mason Gurney also competed for the Bulldogs, shooting a 76.
Eli Bowman competed as an individual for Adrian and finished the round with a 77.
With Tuesday's performance, Adrian sits in third place in the MIAA Jamboree standings, trailing Calvin University by one stroke and Trine University by three strokes.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, October 3, when they host the second MIAA Jamboree of the season at Tecumseh Golf Club. The round is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
