Michael Weston (1981 graduate)
Football
Mike Weston was a standout offensive lineman wearing number 68
for the Bulldogs during a period of great success in the
program’s history. Weston earned four letters during his
collegiate days and was named First Team All-MIAA in 1978 and 1980.
In addition, Weston received Second Team All-MIAA mention in the
1979 season as a junior. His play was so noticed that he was a
unanimous all-conference selection as a senior in 1980. During the
1980 season, the Bulldogs under head coach Tom Heckert posted a
perfect 9-0 season which still stands as the best in school
history.
Weston earned a bachelor’s degree in business
administration in the spring of 1981 and continued his playing
career in the professional ranks. He signed as a free agent with
the Detroit Lions in 1982 and was released after the third
preseason game. After that stint, he played two seasons with the
United States Football League (USFL) as a member of the Michigan
Panthers in 1983 and the Chicago Blitz in 1984.
Weston followed his passion for football into the coaching world
after his time on the field. He coached collegiately at Brown
University, University of Missouri, Oberlin College and Case
Western Reserve. Weston currently resides with his wife, Denise,
and their two daughters, Kate and Brooke, in Chagrin Falls,
Ohio.
Ann Rawley (1986 graduate)
Basketball and Tennis
Ann Rawley was an integral part of the women’s basketball
program at Adrian College helping lead the team to 43 wins during
her four-year career from 1983-86. Rawley was named Second Team
All-MIAA in 1984-85 and 1985-86 during her junior and senior
seasons. She averaged 7.1 points in 22 games as a junior and 5.2
points in 21 games as a senior for the Bulldogs under head coach
Nancy Walsh. The Bulldogs had an overall record of 15-7 during
Rawley’s senior year and went 8-4 in the MIAA. Rawley scored
572 career points and played in 86 games.
Rawley also excelled on the tennis court for the Bulldogs. She
was named First Team All-MIAA in 1982-83 and Second Team All-MIAA
in 1983-84 earning two letters. Rawley earned a bachelor’s
degree in biology and currently resides in Canton, Ohio.
Michael Williams (1990 graduate)
Football and Baseball
Mike Williams was a fixture in the secondary for the Bulldog
football team for four years in the late 1980’s. Williams was
named First Team All-MIAA in 1988 and also was a NCAA Division III
Honorable Mention All-American during his senior season. He was
named Adrian College’s Outstanding Senior Male Athlete in the
1989-90 school year and also earned two letters playing baseball
for the Bulldogs.
Williams had his best statistical year in 1987 with 61 tackles
and also had three interceptions for 33 return yards. He was named
Second Team All-MIAA as a junior. Williams finished his career with
166 tackles, 23 punt returns for 179 yards and eight interceptions
for 93 return yards. Head Coach Ron Labadie had this to say about
Mike. “Mike was one of the real leaders of both of the 1988
and 1989 championship football teams, but especially the 1989 team.
We were really struggling after five games with a 1-4 record and
Mike was one of the guys that never doubted we could get it turned
around. Mike by nature is a quiet guy, but stepped up that year and
was vocal, and led by example. He was an exceptional player on the
field, making all the calls from his free safety position and was
both a good tackler and excellent in pass coverage. Sorry I cannot
be with you tonight Mike, you are what the Adrian Hall of Fame is
all about.” Williams received his bachelor’s degree in
elementary education and currently works at Ida Public Schools as a
physical education teacher. He resides in LaSalle, Michigan and has
a daughter named Baylee. Williams also received a master’s
degree from Eastern Michigan University and is also inducted into
the Monroe Jefferson High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Dawn Brooks Wolf (1993 graduate)
Basketball
Dawn Brooks Wolf helped spearhead one of the greatest eras for
women’s basketball at Adrian College during the early
1990’s. Brooks Wolf is being inducted into the Hall of Fame
for the second time as her teammates and she were honored for the
1990-91 season back in 2006. She lettered for four years at Adrian
College from 1990-93 as the Bulldogs compiled an overall record of
74-28 for a winning percentage of 72.5 percent. Brooks Wolf
contributed as a sophomore to a 22-4 record and an 11-1 record in
the MIAA by averaging 9.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Dawn
ranked second on the team in scoring as a junior averaging 10.9
points while grabbing 5.2 rebounds per game. During her senior
year, Brooks Wolf averaged 12.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest
leading the team to a 19-7 record overall and a 10-2 league
mark.
Brooks Wolf finished her career with 1,025 points and 574
rebounds. She was a very good free throw shooter as evidenced by
her 77.8 percent career average making 148-of-190 from the line.
She earned team MVP awards in 1991-92 and 1992-93 and was named
Second Team All-MIAA in 1992-93. Following her senior campaign, she
was named Adrian College’s Outstanding Senior Female Athlete
of the Year in 1993. Brooks Wolf excelled in the classroom as well
being selected to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll all four years and
earning the GTE/CoSIDA District IV Second Team Academic
All-American award as a senior. She earned a bachelor’s
degree in biology with a minor in chemistry graduating summa cum
laude in 1993. She went on to earn a doctor of optometry from the
Michigan College of Optomtery at Ferris State University in 1997.
Dawn currently resides in Sterling Heights, Michigan with her
husband, Calvin, and their three children – Abigail, Ben and
Daniel.
Matthew Bruder (1995 graduate)
Baseball
Matt Bruder molded himself into a top performer on the baseball
diamond through hard work and determination. Bruder began his
career at Adrian College as a junior varsity player, but by the
time he graduated he was hitting in the middle of the order and
helping the Bulldogs establish a strong tradition. Bruder earned
four letters in baseball and was named Adrian College’s
Outstanding Senior Male Athlete in 1995. Bruder was named First
Team All-MIAA as a senior and was also selected Second Team
All-Mideast Region. He also excelled in the classroom where he was
named to the GTE/CoSIDA District IV All-Academic First Team and
later to the national Academic All-American Third Team.
Bruder was a member of the first-ever baseball conference
championship team in 1993 as a sophomore and upon graduation set
single-season records for hits, RBI, doubles, triples, runs and
total bases. He also set career records with a .363 batting average
and a .516 slugging percentage. Bruder received his
bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and later earned a
Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law. He
currently resides in Centerville, Ohio with his wife, Lisa, and
their children – Caroline, Jonathan and Nicholas.
Ann Terpstra (2000 graduate)
Basketball
Ann Terpstra was a force to be reckoned with in the paint for
the women’s basketball program during her four-year career.
Terpstra is the all-time leading shot blocker at Adrian College
with 153 rejections. She was named the team’s Most Valuable
Player for three straight years from 1997-98 to 1999-2000. Terpstra
was recognized as Adrian College’s Outstanding Senior Female
Athlete in 2000 and is only one of four players to have at least
1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. She finished her
career with 1,108 points and 649 boards.
Terpstra recorded 22 double-doubles in her career where she had
double-digit points and rebounds in the same game. She ranks in the
top 10 all-time at Adrian College in six different statistical
categories. Terpstra was named First Team All-MIAA for three
straight seasons in 1997-98, 1998-99 and 1999-2000. She also
received MIAA Player of the Week notice on four occasions during
her career. Terpstra led the MIAA in scoring in 1997-98 averaging
18.7 points per game and ranks third all-time for a season in MIAA
history with 2.9 blocks per game in 1997-98. Terpstra’s
academics were also a priority as she was named to the GTE/CoSIDA
District IV Second Team All-Academic in 1997-98. She earned a
bachelor’s degree in human services graduating cum laude in
2000 and currently lives in Southgate, Michigan.
