Biography
Born: September 15, 1998
Sam Spaedt is from Saginaw, Michigan and played his high school hockey with Saginaw Heritage High before moving up to Canada to play two seasons for the Waterloo Siskins of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, where he won a Sutherland Cup championship in 2019.
Spaedt spent five years with the MD1 Bulldogs, with two as a National Champion in 2021 and 2024 and two of those seasons as an Assistant Captain. He was named the GLCHL's Most Valuable Player and was a finalist for ACHA Men's Division 1 Player of the Year at the conclusion of his Senior year. He then played for Team USA at the 2023 World Cup of University Hockey in Carta, Romania. Spaedt played a key leadership role for the Bulldogs in their 2024 National Championship run. The fifth-year forward earned GLCHL First Team and National All-Tournament First Team honors in his final season.
Sam, who goes by "Spaedty" or "Spaedter", has a voice that can light up an entire room. The Saginaw native graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Accounting in the spring of 2023 and returned to the team for a fifth season in 2023-24 to start his Master's degree in Accounting while working at an Accounting firm.
