Darrin Griewahn begins new tenure with the Bulldogs in 2025-26 as the Director of Bowling. Griewahn took over the head coaching reigns of the Adrian College men's and women's bowling programs for the in time for the spring semester of the 2018-19 campaign. He has also previously served as an assistant coach with the Bulldogs.
Under his guidance in 2019-20, the Adrian women's program ended up fifth in the national rankings by ClubTeamBowling.com while the men were 17th. In the men's season opener, the Bulldogs were the runners-up at the Sep. 28 Siena Heights Halo Open which featured 12 schools. On the women's side, they too were second in the nine-team Halo Open. Adrian also captured the Olivet College Comets Classic on Nov. 3 with 5,993 pins knocked down. Adrian's postseason, however, was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the 2018-19 campaign, Darrin saw the men have its best finish of fourth place at the MSU/Olivet Tournament on Nov. 4 and Chase Fleming end up 50th out of 174 bowlers at the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Singles Championships in Smyrna, Tenn., in March. On the women's side, the Bulldogs had 12 top-10 finishes highlighted by the MSU/Olivet Tournament title. Adrian was the runner-up in Pool 3 at the Collegiate Club Championships held in Indianapolis, reaching the contender's bracket quarterfinals. In addition, Marissa Land bowled in the upper-half of the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships.
Darrin served as the interim head coach during the 2015-16 campaign, guiding the Bulldog women to the Siena Heights University Halo Invitational title and a fourth-place finish at the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers Classic. On the men's side, Adrian was third at SHU and produced a top-10 showing at UNO.
Prior to coaching the Bulldogs, Darrin founded the Adrian Maples High School bowling program, coaching there from 2003 to 2010. He also has coached several youth bowlers who have advanced in local, state and national tournaments, bringing a wealth of coaching knowledge in the sport.
Darrin is a lifetime bowler with several accomplishments, including 20 300-games and 14 800-series. In 2010, Darrin became a certified pro shop operator at the Centerline Pro Shop in the Lenawee Recreation Bowling Center.
Darrin has lived in Adrian his entire life with his wife, Melissa, and daughter, Lauryn.
