Lucie Roy is beginning her first season as the assistant rowing coach at Adrian College.
Roy’s rowing experience started in 2014 as a freshman at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, MI. In 2015, she won gold medals in both the first novice eight and the lightweight novice four categories at the Midwest Regional Championships. Her team won Michigan State Rowing Championships during every season of her high school career. Roy was named captain during her senior season.
Roy continued rowing at Michigan State University from 2019 to 2022 while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She was named a B1G Distinguished Scholar during her sophomore and junior seasons, and earned Academic All B1G Selections every year. Her collegiate rowing career ended with a fourth place finish in the first varsity four category at the B1G Championships, beating two nationally ranked teams with a time of 7:22.1.
Roy is honored to earn the opportunity to help the Adrian College rowing program reach its full potential. She is excited about the progress that the team has already made, and optimistic about the program’s ability to grow even further.
