Derrik Marry is set to begin his first season at Adrian College in this upcoming 2026-2027 wrestling campaign.
A native of Hudson, Michigan, Marry attended Eastern Michigan University where he competed on scholarship for the Eagles and graduated with a bachelor's degree in International Affairs. Marry brings nearly a decade of coaching experience at the youth, high school, and collegiate level to Adrian College.
Marry began his coaching career in December 2017 as an assistant coach with the Hudson Wrestling Program, where he spent four seasons working with youth, middle school, and high school wrestlers. During his tenure, he helped coach numerous state champions, national champions, and college wrestlers. Marry’s father, Scott has long served as head wrestling coach at Hudson High School and is an Adrian College alumni, class of ‘94.
In May 2021, Marry was named the head coach of the Siena Heights University men's wrestling program, leading the Saints for three seasons. Tasked with rebuilding the program after it was reinstated following a 30-year hiatus, Marry oversaw all aspects of the program, including recruiting, retention, fundraising, community outreach, and student-athlete development.
Under his leadership, Siena Heights grew from just four wrestlers to a roster of more than 30 student-athletes. The program also produced its first conference champion and national qualifier in more than three decades.
Marry and his family are actively involved in local communities. He has two sons, Nolen and Jack.
“I’m excited to take the lessons and things I’ve learned over my years and leverage them to help the student-athletes at AC achieve not just their academic and athletic goals but also help steer these young people to become the men and women that they and their families aspire for them to be when they leave Adrian. While wrestling will remain my main focus, I can’t wait to contribute in a broader way to the elite mindset, atmosphere, and culture that is already present on campus. It’s a great day to be a Bulldog!
