Returning to his alma mater in 2020-21, Doug Raymond '14, served as the ACHA Men's Division 1 Associate Head Coach for the last six seasons. He now enters into his first season as Head Coach for the Bulldogs' nationally-ranked and three-time ACHA Men's Division 1 National Championship team. The 2026-2027 season marks Raymond's seventh season with the MD1 Bulldogs.
Prior to Adrian College, Raymond spent two years coaching the Kingsville Kings, as well as three seasons with the Seguin Huskies and Parry Sound Islanders Junior A hockey teams from 2015 to 2018. All teams are members of the Greater Metro Hockey League in Ontario, Canada. In the 2016-17 season, he led the Islanders to a franchise-best record of 34-7-1 and won the North Division title but lost in the Russell Cup Finals. He was named the GMHL Coach of the Year that season and was named a finalist for the honor in 2019-20. He also was chosen to coach in the league's all-star game three times during his junior hockey coaching career.
Doug played his collegiate hockey at Adrian College, winning a historic three straight ACHA Division 3 National Championships from 2012-14 as a member of the Bulldogs' Gold squad. Doug earned All-Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference All-Star three times (2012-14) and twice made the all-conference first team (2011-12). He graduated from Adrian College in the spring of 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. Doug played three years of junior hockey for the Missoula Maulers of the American West Hockey League, serving as a team captain for his final two seasons. Raymond now holds three ACHA National Championships as a player and two as a coach. He currently resides in Jackson, MI with his wife Ellen.
