Joel Snyder enters his first year as the Assistant Director of Sports Information at Adrian after completing an internship at Lindsey Wilson College in the spring of 2021.
Snyder attended Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania receiving his bachelor's degree in digital media and a minor in sports media in May of 2020.
His primary responsibilities at Lindsey Wilson included assisting the communication effort for the Athletic Department. His duties included, but were not limited to: creating game notes, writing preview and recap stories, enhancing social media efforts, assisting in compiling statistics during games, daily maintenance of the official website, serving as the public address announcer and play-by-play commentator for select sports, aiding photography and video needs at select sports, and assisting all efforts of the Sports Information staff as directed by the Sports Information Director and Assistant Sports Information Director.Â
Prior to Lindsey Wilson, Snyder spent one summer working as an intern staff writer with the Titusville Herald in Titusville, PA. While with the Herald, he covered local sports ranging from summer leagues to high school athletics, as well as community news and local meetings.Â
In college, Snyder spent four years working with the university's Sports Information department serving as play-by-play commentator and public address announcer for select sports, collecting statistics during games, creating game notes, and aiding all efforts of the sports information staff. Additionally, he played a part in creating content for Clarion's student-run radio station (91.7 WCUC.FM), and student-run media team (Eagle Media).
Furthermore, Snyder functions a limited role as the admin of the social media pages for Girard High School athletics in Girard, PA.
He will be the primary contact for the Bulldogs in: Softball, Club Softball, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, M/W Bowling, Women’s Hockey (NCAA and ACHA), Women’s Lacrosse, M/W Tennis, M/W Volleyball, Women’s Wrestling, Track and Field, Cross Country, Cheer, Dance, Acrobatics and Tumbling.
