Adrian High School Girl’s Varsity Basketball Head Coach (1998–2012)
Over 14 years, McKelvey led Adrian High School’s girls' varsity basketball program to new heights. Achievements include:

• 3 District Championships
• 1 Regional Finals appearance
• 5 Conference Championships
• Coached two Division I athletes who rank #1 and #2 on the school’s career scoring list and continued their careers at Syracuse University and the University of Kansas.
• Recognized as Lenawee County Coach of the Year three times.

Lenawee Christian Boy’s Varsity Basketball Head Coach (2012–2019)
During a seven-year tenure at Lenawee Christian, McKelvey continued to raise the bar, guiding the boys' varsity team to remarkable success:

• 6 District Championships
• 2 Regional Championships
• 3 Regional Finals appearances
• State Championship Runner-Up in 2014
• Honored as Lenawee County Coach of the Year twice.

Adrian College Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach (2019–2020)
In a single impactful season with Adrian College, McKelvey played a pivotal role in the program’s historic success, which included:

• A 17-12 overall record, with an 8-6 record in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), finishing in 3rd place.
• Winning the MIAA Postseason Tournament.
• Securing the school’s first-ever NCAA National Tournament appearance.
