2013 (Sr.): Started in all 10 games.... recorded 72 total tackles with 43 solo tackles... Picked up 3.5 sacks for a loss of 28 yards... Forced three fumbles with two fumble recoveries... In his ten games, he totaled 17 tackles for loss for a total of 61 yards... Picked off five passes and returned the interceptions for 171 yards with two touchdowns.... Finished the season with two QB hurries, six breakups, and three blocked kicks... MIAA Defensive MVP.
2012 (Jr.): Started all 11 games…led the team with 78 total tackles…registered two interceptions and a fumble recovery with a combined run-back of 76 yards…ranked eighth in the conference in tackles per game and tied for 16th in the conference in interceptions per game...named First Team All-MIAA...had a season-high 11 tackles against Defiance on Sept. 8including five tackles for a loss of 16 yards and two forced fumbles...had two other games with double-digit tackles including10 stops against Franklin on Nov. 17 in NCAA playoff game...enters senior year with 122 total tackles (78 solo) and 18 tackles for loss (78 yards).

2011 (So.): Started the first five games of the season before going down with a season-ending injury at Trine on Oct. 1...despite playing in just five contests recorded 38 tackles (seventh on the team), 6.5 tackles for a loss, and a sack...at Defiance on Sept. 10had a career-high 13 tackles with 10 of them being solo and also two tackles for a loss of seven yards...recorded 11 tackles (10solo) and two tackles for a loss of six yards at Augustana on Sept.17…registered six tackles including five solo stops with as ack for a loss of nine yards at Trine.

2010 (Fr.): Played in all 10 games during his first season and earned first varsity letter...returned one punt for four yards at Albion on Oct. 30...finished the season with six total tackles including five solo stops...had one tackle in six different contests...recorded a sack for loss of eight yards at Olivet on Oct. 9...tallied a tackle for loss of four yards against Hope on Nov. 6...also had a tackle against UW-Whitewater on Sept. 4, Trine on Oct. 2, Kalamazoo on Oct. 23 and Alma on Nov. 13.

Personal: Majoring in criminal justice...son of Terron and Kenyetta Mathes...born in Gibraltar, Michigan on January 15,1992...earned two varsity letters in football at St. Clair Shores Lake Shore High School...set the school record with 137 tackles during the 2009 season...team advanced to the playoffs with 7-3record in 2009...named to the Macomb All-County team twice...played in the 2009 Michigan High School All-Star Game...named to the Macomb County All-Academic team in 2009...favorite sports team is the Los Angeles Lakers...favorite athletes are Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Terrell Owens...favorite TV show is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air...favorite movies are Superbad and Transformers...favorite musicians are Eminem and Kanye West.
