Rachel Cibulas

Rachel Cibulas, the 2012 MWLC Coach of the Year, is entering hersecond season with the Bulldogs. Her first season with the Bulldogsduring the 2012 year proved to be very successful, as the teamfinished with a record of 17-3. The Bulldogs also captured the MWLCregular season and conference tournament titles for the second yearin a row along with their second NCAA tournament appearance.

Under Cibulas, the Bulldogs have had eight MWLC Players of theWeek, six First Team All-Conference Players, two Second TeamAll-Conference Players and two IWLCA All-West Regional Playersnamed during the 2012 season. Additionally, Cibulas coached seniorAmanda Lambert, who ranked 15th nationally for ground balls duringthe 2012 season (66).

Cibulas is no stranger to Adrian College as she served asassistant coach during the first year of the program's existence in2008. The Bulldogs compiled a 6-7 record during that season andCibulas was largely responsible for recruiting one of the largestand most talented classes in NCAA Division III along with formerhead coach John Sung.

Cibulas gained valuable experience during the 2011 season as thehead coach at NCAA Division II Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory,N.C. Lenoir-Rhyne compiled a 6-10 record in their first year as aprogram under Cibulas. She was in charge of all facets of theprogram.

The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native coached a pair of teams inher hometown as assistant coach at Bethel Park High School in 2010and as head coach of the Intrepid Girls Lacrosse Club from May 2009to August 2010. While at Bethel Park, Cibulas helped the team to afour-win improvement going 10-6 in 2010. The squad also made itsfirst-ever WPIAL playoff appearance and Cibulas coached threeall-sectional players.

Cibulas joined Slippery Rock University in June 2008 afterleaving the Bulldog program. She was in charge of goalkeeping anddefensive units for The Rock and coached two all-league studentathletes.

Cibulas played collegiately at Robert Morris University (Pa.)and was a letter-winner for the Colonials for two years. She wasnamed team captain for both the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons and wasthe first female player to sign a National Letter of Intent for theColonial lacrosse program. Her grandfather Joseph, playedprofessional football for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

She graduated from Robert Morris University in May 2007 with abachelor of science in business administration. She completed herMaster of Science in sport management from Slippery Rock Universityin May 2010. She is a Registered Athletic Administrator through theN.I.A.A.A.
