Mike Hatfield has been named one of two Assistant Coaches of thewomen's soccer program at Adrian College. Coach Hatfield isthe previous head coach at The University of Michigan-Dearborn, andhas served as the Director of Michigan Rush Downriver Soccer Cluband head coach at Trenton High School.
In his nine years at The University of Michigan-Dearborn,Hatfield was instrumental in the creation of both the women's andmen's soccer programs. At the high school level, his girlsand boys teams have won eight straight MHSAA Districtchampionships, and his involvement in the youth soccer scene hashelped over 20 players continue their careers at the collegelevel.
"Adrian is a championship caliber institution and I knew that Iwanted to continue my collegiate coaching career as a Bulldog assoon as the opportunity became available," said Hatfield. "I'd like to thank the administration for their flexibility,as it will allow me to continue working with the Trenton girl'shigh school program and Rush Soccer Club."
Originally from nearby Clinton, Michigan, Hatfield has served asa lead clinician with the Adrian Soccer Academy for the past twoyears. As part of his new role at the College, he will serveas Coordinator of the Adrian Soccer Academy and will oversee campsand clinics for both the women's and men's soccer programs.
