Entering his sixth season with Bulldog Athletics, Patrick Stewart has been the sports information director in the Adrian College Office of Athletic Communications since the 2015-16 academic year.

Patrick leads the efforts in the publicity of 48 varsity/club sports including production of information guides, media relations, managing the website and Athletics' official social media accounts, writing press releases and feature stories, marketing/promotions, and assisting in game management. In the most recent D3socialmedia.com rankings, Adrian is listed 45th among NCAA Division III schools and No. 2 for those institutions without an active Instagram account. Under his direction, the athletics department has seen a 47 percent increase in combined followers since his arrival on Sep. 28, 2015.

While with the Bulldogs, Patrick serves on the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association All-America and NCATA athletes of the week committees.

The Ohio native came to Adrian after serving a three-year stint as the Director of Athletic Communications at fellow NCAA Division III institution Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. While at Western, he oversaw a redesign of wnegoldenbears.com that coincided with the launch of the athletic department's YouTube channel that generated 90,000 views during his tenure. Patrick also forged a partnership with the PACKNetwork that created the Golden Bear Sports Network, which streamed WNE athletics events in High-Definition for the first time. GBSN aired 50 events during its first year of existence in 2013-14 and more than 100 the next season. Along with a 300 percent increase in Facebook "likes" and creation of an Instagram account, web traffic across all WNE multimedia properties improved by 33 percent under Patrick's direction.

Patrick has earned over 27 citations of publications and writing excellence from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He also has served as a national poll voter for D3hoops.com and the defunct-D3softball.com, as well as on the CoSIDA Publications Committee.

Patrick is a 1989 graduate of Ohio University, receiving bachelor degrees in both communication and physical education.

Patrick previously worked on the sports information staffs at Ohio, Newberry College, Alaska Anchorage, Lewis & Clark College, McMurry University and SUNY Plattsburgh, as well as in the conference setting at the Eastern College Athletic Conference on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.

Several of Patrick's former assistants hold directors' positions in intercollegiate or high school athletic communications spanning the nation in Alaska, Texas, Iowa, Pennsylvania and New York.

Patrick's favorite professional teams are the NHL's Boston Bruins, NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers, NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, MLB's Boston Red Sox, MLS Columbus Crew and New England Revolution and is an avid viewer of English Premier League soccer.

His wife, the former Geri Anne Bowden of Anchorage, Alaska, and a Veteran, make their home in Madison with their two cats, Abbie and Rosie, and white-eyed conure parrot, Bobbie. The couple has two grown children and two granddaughters.
