Bulldogs tame Lions in game one

HANCOCK, Mich. - In what was a close game through the first 35 minutes, the Adrian College Bulldogs gained control and another victory on Friday night, defeating the Finlandia University Lions by a 7-3 score.

The Bulldogs and Lions traded goals through the first 35 minutes of the game. Eric Bailen scored the only goal of the first period at 9:24, giving the Bulldogs the lead going into the locker room at intermission.

After a Corey Blake goal, Eric Miller regained the lead for the visiting Bulldogs at 10:33 with Shawn Skelly and Rob Hodnicki in on the assist. The Lions quickly tied the game up, netting their second goal at 11:13. With just over five minutes left in the period, Mike Dahlinger moved the game to 3-2 in favor of the Bulldogs yet again. Less than a minute later, captain Adam Krug netted the game-winner for the Adrian squad on an even-strength effort.

The Bulldogs pulled away in the third period, getting goals from Brad Houston, Miller, and Sam Kuzyk in the final frame. With the win, the Adrian men's hockey team moves their record to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in MCHA play.

Brad Fogal picked up the win with 26 saves and three goals allowed in the victory. Fogal now stands at 4-1 this season.

The Bulldogs and Lions will face-off again tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m.
