After trailing 2-0 at the end of the first period, the Adrian College Bulldogs came back to defeat Finlandia University in men's hockey on Saturday night.
The host Lions grabbed an early lead on two goals within the first two minutes of the game. After getting a chance to settle down and get into gear, the Bulldogs chipped away at the two goal deficit. Quinn Waller got the comeback started with a goal at 17:42 in the second period on a power play opportunity. Adam Krug would add another Bulldog goal in the second frame, tying the contest at 2-2 when both teams took to the locker rooms for the second intermission.
Shawn Skelly tallied the game-winning goal for the Bulldogs on an even-strengthed goal over six minutes into the third period. Despite adding an extra attacker late in the game, the Lions were unable to find the back of the net for the equalizer. Adam Krug delivered the knock-out punch with his second goal of the game just before time expired, notching an empty net goal for the Bulldogs to wrap up the come-from-behind win.
Brad Fogal registered 37 saves in goal for the Bulldogs, picking up the win between the pipes for Adrian. With the win, the Bulldogs move to 6-2 overall with a perfect 4-0 record in MCHA contests.
The Adrian College varsity men's hockey team will next be in action when they travel to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to face the Marian College Sabres in an MCHA series on November 30 and December 1.
