The Adrian College women's hockey team's woes against Buffalo State continued on Saturday afternoon as the two teams ended their contest in a 1-1 tie.
Stacey Kempson and Jessica Grubbs connected with Steph Dimini to put the Bulldogs up 1-0 11:13 into the second period on an even-strength goal. After two costly penalties shortly after the Bulldog goal, the Tigers got the equalizer by capitalizing on the two-player advantage 13:20 into the second frame.
Dana Timm made 16 saves in goal for the Bulldogs in the tie contest.
Adrian held a decisive margin in the shots on goal statistic, out shooting the Tigers 27-17 on the afternoon. The Bulldogs had a tough time with penalties again against the Tigers as they were whistled for 12 penalties to the Tigers' six in the game. On the weekend, the Bulldogs were sent to the penalty box 25 times for 58 minutes.
The Bulldogs will return to the Arrington Ice Arena for their next series against the squad from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on January 19 and 20. It is the first time in almost two months that the Bulldogs will compete on their home ice. Game time for Saturday's contests is slated for 7:00 p.m.
