The men's soccer team won their second straight with two goals in the final 10:03 to defeat Kalamazoo 3-2 on Wednesday night. The Hornets scored on their third shot of the game as Thomas Lorentzen scored at 8:24 with an assist from Dane Carey to give Kalamazoo a quick 1-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs tied the match at 1-1 at 41:31 as Justyn Bensett scored his first goal of the season on the fourth shot of the game by Adrian. Bensett was setup by Markian Shier on the play. The match could have taken a negative tone after Adrian scored on themselves at 43:04 to give the Hornets a 2-1 lead going into halftime. The Bulldogs forgot about that unfortunate situation and scored the tying and winning goal during crunch time.
Brian Bush entered the match at 68:07 and provide a spark for Adrian. He fired wide at the 77:40 mark but found the back of the net on his next shot at 79:57 to tie the match at 2-2. Derek Lanni was credited with an assist on the tying tally. Once Adrian tie things up they were quick to the attack as Eric Drake scored his sixth goal of the year on a header at 81:39 to give the Bulldogs a one-goal lead they would hold onto for the final 8:21. Matt Thomas setup the game-winner and was given an assist.
Adrian and Kalamazoo each had 12 total shots with the Bulldogs having eight shots on goal while Kalamazoo had five shots on goal. Alex Pavlika made three saves in net for the black and gold. AC picked up their third road win of the season and improved to 5-9 overall and 3-6 in the MIAA.
