Women's Hockey Shuts Out Buffalo State

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's hockey team defeated the Buffalo State Bengals 4-0 on Sunday afternoon to improve to 2-0 overall early in the 2008-09 season.

Jessica Grubbs led the offensive attack for the Bulldogs. Grubbs scored a power play goal to give Adrian a 1-0 lead. Stacey Kempson and Jodi Myers were each credited with an assist on the goal. Grubbs scored an unassisted goal 12 minutes into the first period to give Adrian a 2-0 advantage going into the first intermission.

Stacey Kempson scored the only goal for either team in the second period. Kempson was assisted on the play by Prenella Semma. Lyndsay Laxton scored the final goal of the game for the Bulldogs.

The women's hockey team will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1st with a match-up against Bethel at 4:00 p.m.
