Men's Soccer Comes Up Short Against Hope

Oct. 28, 2008

Final Stats

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's soccer team was defeated by the Hope College Flying Dutchmen by the score of 1-0 on Tuesday night at Performance Stadium. Both offenses struggled due to the cold, windy weather conditions.

Freshman Shaun Groetsema came up big for the Dutchmen. Groetsema didn't start the game, but he came in and scored the only goal between the two teams at the 31 minute mark to give Hope a 1-0 victory. It was Groetsema's third goal of the season.

Alex Pavlika saw action all throughout the game. He was the goalkeeper for all 90 minutes and came up with seven saves. Hope used Andrew Goorhouse in the first half, and then switched to Logan Neil to finish the game as their goalkeeper.

The Bulldogs are now 5-11 overall with an MIAA Conference record of 3-8. They have three games remaining in the regular season. Next up for Adrian will be a road game against Trine on Nov.1.
