Brad Houston and Mike Dahlinger led the offensive attack with two goals each in a 6-2 win over Finlandia. The win moved Adrian's record to 5-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the MCHA. Finlandia entered the game with a 2-1 mark and dropped their first conference game (2-1) as Adrian scored three goals in the second period to break open a close game.
Mike Towns scored his first of the season on a misdirection in front of the net off a shot from Rob Hodnicki at 3:46 of the first period to get AC on the board. Finlandia tied the game at 1-1 on the power play as Nemanja Jankovic scored his second goal of the season off a rebound in front of the net. Eric Shultz and Chris Hendrickson each were credited with an assist as it was Hendrickson's initial shot that was stopped by Adrian goaltender Brad Fogal.
Adrian finished the period with a power play goal off the stick of Adam Krug for his seventh of the year with 44 seconds left in the period. Shawn Skelly and Chris Stansik recorded an assist as Krug fired a low shot past Finlandia goaltender Ryan Donovan. The second period saw Houston scored back-to-back power play goals 3:28 apart both off rebounds in front of the net. Houston's third of the year at 14:47 came from Skelly and Eric Miller. His fourth of the season at 18:15 was assisted by Skelly and Krug.
The Bulldogs really began to put the game out of reach as Dahlinger scored an even strength goal 42 seconds after Houston's second goal of the night to make the score 5-1 after two periods. Dahlinger did a very nice wraparound move to put home his second of the year. Dahlinger added another nice wraparound at 12:03 of the third to give AC a 6-1 lead. The teams traded penalties and rough play as Adrian went down two men late in the third and Finlandia scored a 5-on-3 power play goal at 18:20 as Hendrickson scored his third of the year from James Neitsch and Tiger Marcotte.
Skelly led Adrian with three assists and Sam Kuzyk added two assists for the Bulldogs. Brad Fogal earned the win in net for Adrian making 13 saves. Adrian was 3-for-8 on the power play and are now 19-for-34 (.352) on the season. Finlandia was 2-for-11 on the power play including 1-for-6 in the third. Donovan made 38 saves for the Lions.
