The football squad played through the elements and sent the seniors out with a 19-7 win at Olivet on Saturday night. Three seniors went into the end zone capping off an 8-2 season with a 5-1 MIAA record. Jomar Jackson put Adrian ahead 6-0 with 3:38 left in the first quarter on a seven-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs marched 81 yards in 13 plays. AC went ahead 12-0 with 5:42 left in the second quarter as Patrick Reagan caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Troy Niblock. The drive lasted 3:57 and covered 80 yards in 10 plays. After a Pat Clasgens 60-yard touchdown scamper with 4:23 left in the second, Niblock ended the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run with 1:59 left in the third quarter.
Adrian gained 283 yards of total offense and held the Comets to 174 total yards. Adrian gained 149 yards on the ground as Niblock gained 83 yards on 29 carries. He went over 1,000 rushing yards for the second straight season. Niblock was also 8-of-14 through the air for 89 yards. Mike McGee went 5-of-6 passing for 45 yards.
The defense was led by senior Bobby Watson with six tackles. Chris McGuire also had six stops including four solo tackles and one sack. The Bulldogs used the clock to their advantage with 36:33 in time of possession compared to 23:27 for Olivet. AC was 6-of-13 on third down while Olivet was 3-of-10.
