ADRIAN, Mich. -
The Adrian College women's hockey team was defeated by UW-Superior 7-1 on Saturday afternoon. The loss takes Adrian's record to 5-3 overall as the two teams split the weekend series.
Jodi Holland gave UW-Superior a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Stacey Kempson scored an unassisted goal at the 10:42 mark to tie the game at 1-1. Kempson has scored a team-high seven goals early in the 2008-09 season.
The Yellow Jackets scored late in the first period to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. Neither team allowed a goal in the second period.
The third period belonged to UW-Superior. The Yellow Jackets scored five goals to earn the 7-1 victory. Neither team was able to take advantage of a power play. The Bulldogs were 0-6, and the Yellow Jackets were 0-2.
Dana Timm was the goaltender for a majority of the game against UW-Superior. Timm earned 25 saves in 47 minutes of action. Erin Roach played for the first time this season and had 3 saves.
The Bulldogs will return to the Arrington Ice Arena to face UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 11th.
