The men's basketball team ran into a buzzsaw in the second half on Sunday at Manchester College. The Spartans shot 65.4 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes en route to the eight-point win. Manchester's 82-75 win was fueled by good inside play by the Spartans. They scored 50 points in the paint compared to 28 for the Bulldogs.
Adrian shot 41.9 percent for the game including 51.6 percent from the floor in the second half. Desmond Young led all scorers with 24 points and was 7-of-18 from the floor and 9-of-10 at the free throw line. He also had four rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes. Dwight VanHoesen added 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field in 29 minutes. Matt Wayne scored 10 points off the bench on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and also had four rebounds in 22 minutes.
