The women's hockey team played fifth-ranked Gustavus Adolphus for the second time in as many days on Saturday and gave up three power play goals in a 3-0 loss. The Bulldogs played the Golden Gusties very tough for the second straight night after a 2-1 overtime win on Friday at Arrington Ice Arena.
The difference this time was the power play of Gustavus Adolphus and the goaltending of Emily Klatt, who did not play last night. GAC was 3-of-10 on the power play and Klatt made all 25 saves in net improving to 1-0. Adrian went 0-of-7 on the power play and Dana Timm did another great job in net with 32 saves (4-2).
Alyssa Saunders' power play goal at 17:12 of the first period gave GAC a 1-0 lead. Kirstin Peterson and Alyssa Gaulrapp were given assists on the goal. Lynn Hillen scored the first of her two power play goals at 1:39 of the second period with an assist from Jenny Pusch. Hillen's second goal came at 1:21 of the third period unassisted.
Stacey Kempson had seven shots on goal and nearly had a goal as the red light went on in the second period. The play continued and when the whistle blew the officials got together and ruled that the puck did not completely cross the line. Prenella Semma had four shots on goal. Adrian spent 10:58 of ice time on the power play and attempted four shots on goal. AC is now 4-2 overall.
