Stats

ADRIAN, Mich. - Samuel Kuzyk and Shawn Skelly combined for seven goals as the #9 Adrian College Bulldogs handed the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons their worst loss in the first-year program's history.

Eric Miller wasted little time getting the Bulldogs on the scoreboard on Friday night, scoring his league-leading 29th goal 50 seconds into the game. The game remained 1-0 in favor of the Bulldogs until 13:57 when Kuzyk notched a power-play goal for the 2-0 lead. Less than two minutes later, the Bulldogs struck again with Mike Towns finding the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season. With 2:51 left in the first period, Miller made a pass back to Bobby Hineman, who then played the puck through the legs of his defender and chipped a shot past the Falcon goalie to put the Bulldogs up 4-0.

The Bulldogs continued to control the game throughout the second period. Shawn Skelly scored 21 seconds into the period and then added another goal at 11:59, giving the home team the 6-0 advantage. Kuzyk then chimed in with his second and third goals of the game at 12:47 and 16:27, respectively, pushing the Bulldog lead to eight goals. Mike Fiorillo got in on the scoring not long after Kuzyk's third goal with a power-play goal. The Falcons spoiled the shut-out bid with 1:18 left in the period on a power-play goal of their own to cut the lead to 9-1.

In the third period, the Bulldogs picked up where they had left off, scoring four goals before the 8:00 mark of the period. Joel Workman netted goals at 2:14 and 5:55 while Skelly completed his hat trick at 3:24 between Workman's goals. Kyle Watson notched his sixth goal of the season at 7:36 to give the Bulldogs the 13-1. Kuzyk found the back of the net for the fourth time of the night at 10:46 for the Texas hat trick, the first in school history, to give the Bulldogs a 13-goal cushion. Bobby Hineman lit up the scoreboard for the 15th time for the home team by scoring his fifth goal of the season at 11:32. The Falcons got their second and final goal less than a minute after Hineman's goal to make the score 15-2. Mike Dahlinger responded for the Bulldogs, scoring the team's 16th goal of the night with 2:48 remaining to lift Adrian to their second-biggest win in school history.

Brad Fogal earned his 14th MCHA win and 17th overall victory in goal. The 14 wins in MCHA play is a new league record for a netminder in a season.

The #9 Bulldogs and the Falcons will face off again tomorrow afternoon at the Arrington Ice Arena. The puck is scheduled to drop at 3:00 p.m.
